COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Two Flint women are in the Branch County jail after being arrested Wednesday on multiple charges after the pair allegedly attempted to return stolen items to the Coldwater Walmart.
Coldwater Police say 25-year-old Naasia LaShon Copeland and 22-year-old Sheonte Shaquese Robb attempted to return items that were not paid for from a Fort Wayne, Indiana Walmart. Both suspects attempted to flee when police arrived.
Copeland was arrested after a short foot pursuit, while Robb was taken into custody after being found hiding in a dumpster behind Buffalo Wild Wings. Both are facing several charges including felony 1st degree retail fraud, felony receiving/concealing stolen property, felony organized retail crime, and two counts of assaulting/resisting/obstructing a police officer
A Walmart Loss Prevention report says the refund fraud by Robb included over $500 worth of merchandise and for Copeland over $935.
Copeland has at least one prior conviction for retail fraud and Robb has several entries on her criminal history for theft, larceny, and retail fraud and is currently on probation.
If convicted on all counts both could get up to 19 years in prison.
Both will be back in court for a probable cause hearing June 10, 2025.
