COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A Fort Wayne woman is back behind bars today after being a no show for a court appearance Monday.
42-year-old Jennifer Sue Weber had been ordered by District Court Judge Brent Weigle to appear in person at the Branch County Courthouse June 2, for which Weber failed to appear. Judge Weigle then revoked her $10,000 bond and issued an arrest warrant with a new bond of $250,000.
According to the Branch County Jail, Weber turned herself into the courthouse late Tuesday afternoon.
Weber was arrested last month following a traffic stop on I-69 in Coldwater for going 97 mph in a 70 mph zone. During a search of her vehicle Michigan State Police discovered what tested positive as 4.6 pounds of a heroin/fentanyl mixture with a street value of between $250 and $300,000.
State Police said following the arrest it was enough fentanyl to kill a million people.
She is charged with charged with Possession of Cocaine/Heroin or Other Narcotic as well as driving without a license.
If convicted Weber could receive a sentence of up to life in prison and a $1,000,000 fine.
