ANGOLA, IN (WTVB)- An Angola man is locked up in the Steuben County Jail on multiple charges after leading Indiana State Police (ISP) on a short pursuit Tuesday evening.
ISP says ust after 6:30pm an Indiana State Police Trooper attempted to stop a Harley Davidson motorcycle for speed in Steuben County on County Road 600 East near County Road 400 North. The motorcycle rider refused to stop for the Trooper and fled to 5670 East 100 North.
After leading the Trooper behind a structure on the property, the motorcycle stopped and the rider got off the motorcycle. The Trooper watched him as he threw an object away from the scene. Then after briefly attempting to resist arrest, the rider was taken into custody.
The driver of the motorcycle was identified as 60- year old Alan Jones of Angola. The article that was thrown was recovered and contained a large amount of suspected methamphetamine.

After being cleared by medical professionals, Mr. Jones was transported to the Steuben County Jail and charged with the following:
Controlled Substance – Dealing Methamphetamine a Level 2 Felony
Controlled Substance – Possess Methamphetamine a Level 3 Felony
Resisting Law Enforcement Using Vehicle a Level 6 Felony
Obstruction of Justice a Level 6 Felony
Resisting Law Enforcement a Class A Misdemeanor
Intimidation a Class A Misdemeanor
The Trooper was assisted by the Steuben County Sheriff’s Department and Steuben County EMS.
