CENTERVILLE, MI (WTVB) – A man convicted of sexually abusing a relative in St. Joseph County two decades ago will spend the next 20-30 years in prison.
69-year-old Geral Whitney, was sentenced late last week after being convicted in May on two counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct and two counts of second-degree criminal sexual conduct for sexually abusing a relative.
The case was prosecuted by the state’s Attorney General’s Office, at the request of the St. Joseph County prosecutor.
Afterword’s Attorney General Dana Nessel said in a statement “ This significant sentence sends a clear message that no matter how much time has passed, justice is possible for sexual assault survivors”
