COLDWATER,MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater City Council tonight is expected to give final approval for a new apartment complex.
The Coldwater Board of Public Utilities Board of Directors previously approved the agreement that the City of Coldwater entered into with Trotline, LLC of Spring Lake, which is managed by Coach Road Capital.
The council tonight is expected to finalize the sale of 20 acres of city-owned land at $17,000 an acre.
Coach Road was the developer of the Apartments at Sauk Trail, north of the Home Depot, as well as the Summit Apartments on North Willowbrook Road.
The land in Coldwater Township was acquired by the City in 2009.
The plan includes 210 units, similar to the nearby Summit Apartments, which is nearing completion.
The proposed multi-family apartment complex would be located at 421 North Willowbrook Road and is seen as a response to the growing need for housing in the area.

I bet they aren’t subsidized! Would be nice to have more low income housing.
How about building apartments for the low income people… We the SSI income only people have hardly any place that we can afford. Most get stuck living with others, and not getting to live independently because there is no place where rent is under $1k and we can’t even get 1k a month and I’m stuck living in a crumbling house that I can’t afford to keep up the maintenance and still survive the month on what I get. So build apartments for the low income with disabilities and make it where rent is workable. Be selective in who you allow but not all low income are trash.
