BRONSON, MI (WTVB) – The Bronson Vikings completed a sweep for Branch County teams in the opening week of the 2025 high school football season on Friday night as they defeated the Prairie Heights Panthers 31-16 at Charles R. Hilton Field.
Prairie Heights jumped out to an 8-0 first quarter lead before the Vikings would score 31 unanswered points.
Aiden Whitaker got the Vikings on the board midway through the opening period with a 40 yard touchdown scamper but Bronson trailed 8-6 after the first quarter thanks a missed two point conversion.
Bronson put three touchdowns on the scoreboard in the second quarter to take a 25-8 lead at the half.
Whitaker’s second touchdown of the game from 10 yards out put the Vikings ahead for good at 12-8.
Bronson quarterback Spencer Losinski accounted for the next three scores as he made a six yard house call to put the Vikings ahead 19-8.
His 49 yard TD pass to Dalton Hoard with 58 seconds left until halftime made it a three possession game. Losinski’s 26 yard TD pass to Layne Arver early in the third quarter closed out the scoring for Bronson.
The Vikings play at Decatur next Friday night.
