COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater City Council approved the fourth and final step Monday night for the Establishment of a Residential City Sidewalk Maintenance and Improvement Program.
Neighborhood Services Director and City Assessor Samantha Albright said collection of the special assessment will begin December 1.
The program will consist of special assessments over 10 years.
Notification of Monday night’s hearing included a proposed assessment in dollar amounts that was sent to the specified property owners within Northshore, Arrowhead, Amberview Court and Thompson Blvd.
Albright says concerns have been reviewed and a few adjustments were made to the final roll.
In other business, the Council approved Mayor Tom Kramer’s appointment of Craig Lynch to the Coldwater Board of Public Utilities Board of Directors. He will be serving out the balance of John Wellet’s term which expires in May of 2027.
Wellet stepped down from the board last week after moving outside of the utility’s territory.
