UNION CITY, MI (WTVB) – Fire crews from several departments were kept busy overnight battling a structure fire in Union City.
The initial call came in for Union City Fire just before midnight as a report of a garage fire on St. Joseph Street. When the first units arrived on the scene they reported the attached garage fully involved and flames spreading to the home.
Mutual aid was quickly dispatched for Athens, Sherwood and Burlington Fire departments.
As of early this morning crews were still on the scene. The garage was described as a total loss with heavy damage to the home.
So far there have been no reports of injuries. It’s unknown at this time how the fire started .
