BATAVIA TOWNSHIP, MI (WTVB) – Adventure Zone of Coldwater has been approved for a Class C liquor license by the Batavia Township board.
The decision came this week, following a discussion that weighed the park’s expansion plans against concerns from a neighboring resident.
For more than two decades, Adventure Zone has been a mainstay in the area, offering attractions like go-karts, mini-golf, and laser tag.
Owner Matt Stritzinger said with plans for further expansion, that the new Class C license would permit the sale of beer, wine, and spirits for consumption on the premises.
It’s part of a larger plan to install a commercial kitchen and offer a restaurant-style menu.
Stritzinger also told the board that about 70% of their customer base are adults, and that adding a liquor option would encourage customers to stay for meals instead of going elsewhere.
The only opposition during the meeting came from a resident and their spouse who live across from the park who voiced concerns about a family-oriented attraction serving alcohol.
However, after hearing from Stritzinger and reviewing the proposal, the township board approved the license.
With the local approval from Batavia Township, Adventure Zone will now continue with the application process, which involves further review and final approval from the Michigan Liquor Control Commission.

Gee, what could possibly go wrong?
I wish they wouldn’t have gone there.
