ALGANSEE TOWNSHIP, MI (WTVB) – Visitors to Marble Lake and Fisher Creek in Algansee Township, along with nearby residents, are encouraged to stay away from the Marble Lake inlet and from Fisher Creek in the area east of South Ray-Quincy Road and north of Campbell Road.
The Branch-Hillsdale-St. Joseph Community Health Agency issued the advisory after receiving notification from the Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE) of a spill of untreated manure and a subsequent observation by EGLE staff of manure in Fisher Creek between Campbell and East Central Roads.
In a press release, Community Health Agency Health Officer Rebecca Burns said that her agency has been in contact with EGLE staff, adding that “We advise residents to avoid Fisher Creek and the Marble Lake inlet area, keeping themselves, children, and pets out of the water if manure is observed.”
