Marian I. “Mary” Collins, 87, of Burlington Township passed away Sunday, October 19, 2025 at her home.
A celebration of life will be held at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, October 25, 2025, at Lighthouse Funeral & Cremation, 1276 Tate Trail, Union City, MI with Pastor Pete Payne from the Assembly of God Church in Union City officiating. Interment will follow at Burlington Cemetery.
Visitation will be held for two hours prior to the service, beginning at 10:00 a.m., also Saturday at the Lighthouse.
Mary was born October 3, 1938 to Elwood and Nina (Bond) Hamilton in Tekonsha. She graduated from Union City High School with the Class of 1957. On August 2, 1957, she married Otto Collins in Marshall. He preceded her in death on June 19, 2020. Mary worked at Research Molding in Mendon and GHS Strings in Battle Creek, from which she retired.
She was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Union City and enjoyed mushroom hunting, fishing, sewing, cooking, going to tractor shows, thrifting, flea markets, activities at the Union City Senor Center, playing bingo, but most of all spending time with her family and her special friend, Elmer.
Surviving Mary are her siblings, Daniel (Michelle) Damon and Robert (Norma) Hamilton; her sister-in-law Kathy Damon; and her many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband Otto, she was preceded in death by her parents; her brother LaVern Damon; and her sisters, Irene Hughes, Roberta McMullen, and Ardith Damon.
