COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – On a 6-2 vote, the Coldwater City Council gave the go ahead Monday night for the City to make a contingent acquisition of Industrial Park property at 335 Jay Street for $200,000.
The property was the former location of Tri-Mark Subcontractors and is currently owned by Mark Palm.
The building was the former location of a pickling company and is said to be in bad shape.
City Attorney Amanda O’Boyle said the transaction with Palm was contingent on someone buying the property from the city within the next six months.
City Manager Keith Baker said economic development funds would be used for the purchase.
Yes votes were cast by Mayor Tom Kramer as well as Council members Travis Machan, Scott Houtz, Randall Hazelbaker, John Petzko and Mike Beckwith.
Council members Emily Rissman and Jim Knaack voted no.
