COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Coldwater School Superintendent Paul Flynn told the district’s Board of Education Monday night that the district’s preliminary numbers from the October Count Day showed a decline of 13 students compared to last year.
He said the district had 2,918 students but Flynn pointed out there was some positive news.
Two Count Days are held every school year in the State of Michigan. The first is held in October, the second is in February. They determine the amount of state funding school districts receives.
In other business, the Board approved a quote of over $5,300 from National Trails Charter Bus company to transport the Coldwater High School varsity football team and CHS band members to Lowell for this Friday night’s MHSAA playoff game.
A charter bus company was hired due to the shortage of bus drivers the district is experiencing.
