BRONSON, MI (WTVB) – The Bronson Vikings advanced to the MHSAA Division 7 District Finals on Friday night as they smashed the Jonesville Comets 52-12 at Charles Hilton Field.
It was more treats than tricks for the Vikings on Halloween Night as they played their first home playoff game in 15 years.
They announced their presence with authority in the first half as they built a 24-0 lead.
Spencer Losinski’s 24 yard touchdown to Ben Stevens midway through the first quarter opened the scoring. Reid Stukey scored from two yards out on the first play of the second quarter.
The Vikings then scored on the final play of the first half as Aiden Whitaker faked an end around and threw a two yard TD pass to Connor McClelland. The Vikings were successful on all three two point conversion attempts.
Bronson extended their lead to 30-0 in the third quarter as Losinski and Stevens hooked up on a 25 yard touchdown pass. Jonesville then got on the board thanks to a 20 yard TD pass from Carson Young to Reece Rundquist.
Stevens scored his third touchdown of the night on a 13-yard run but he left the game with an injury.
Drew McConn rumbled for a 30-yard touchdown to put Bronson ahead 44-6 early in the fourth quarter. It was the first of three touchdowns in 18 seconds.
Kash Keller scored on a 70-yard kickoff return for the Comets. Jonesville then tried an onside kick but it was picked up by Dallas Wilson who went 50 yards for a Bronson touchdown.
Bronson’s offense was unstoppable as unofficially they had 223 yards rushing and another 182 yards in the air.
