SHERWOOD TOWNSHIP, MI(WTVB) – A Battle Creek man has been arrested after allegedly stabbing a victim during an assault on Wheatfield Drive in Sherwood Township.
Sheriff Fred Blankenship says that deputies were dispatched to the 200 block of Wheatfield Drive following a report of a stabbing incident. Upon arrival, deputies discovered an adult male with non-life-threatening stab wounds to his hands and arm. The victim was treated at the scene by LifeCare Ambulance personnel and later sought further treatment at a local hospital.
Through their investigation, authorities identified a 42-year-old Battle Creek resident as the suspect. Deputies located and apprehended the individual at a residence on Chippewa Drive, also in Sherwood Township. Two search warrants were executed as part of the investigation, leading to the collection of evidence related to the assault. The suspect was taken into custody and lodged at the Branch County Jail, facing both felony and misdemeanor charges.
The Branch County Sheriff’s Office received assistance from the Union City Police Department, LifeCare Ambulance, the Battle Creek Police Department, and Branch County Central Dispatch.
