David was born June 26, 1939 in Britton, MI, the son of Daniel and Alice (Thomas) Linn.
David married the love of his life, Judith Lillian Ambeault April 10, 1965. They were married in the evening on St. Joseph Island, Ontario, Canada. He said they were the first couple to have an evening wedding, as all others took place in the morning.
David also said, one of their gifts was a bottle of maple syrup and a couple weeks later, they received an invoice to pay for the maple syrup. They shared 58 beautiful years together until she passed October 25, 2023.
David had a long career as a diesel mechanic in various roles. His love and knowledge of working on diesel engines was a great source of pride for him. After he retired, he continued to work with his dear friend Mike Jones, helping him escort heavy machinery all over Michigan and parts of Indiana and Ohio.
David was an avid reader and especially loved western books. He loved to play the harmonica and had a range of sizes he liked to showcase. David and Judy loved the outdoors and camping. His favorite trip was when they went to Alaska and spent three months tooling around every part of the state their truck could take them.
Towards the end of his life, David loved to go to breakfast once a month with his classmates from Ridgeway. He also loved to watch the live stream of the Soo Locks in Sault Saint Marie, where he once lived. He would talk about all the freight liners going through the locks and enjoyed watching the sunsets each night.
David is survived by his bonus daughter Dianne (Joel) Wilson; his daughter Laurie Linn; his sisters Alona and Ginny; his brother Mike and many nieces, nephews; many special friends and neighbors Butch and Sandy, Jessie, Jody and children, Rubin and family.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter Michaelle Linn and his sister Patricia.
