MARENGO TOWNSHIP, MI (WTVB) – A 39-year-old Marshall man sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries after crashing his pickup truck into a tree in Marengo Township late Wednesday night.
The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office says they were dispatched to the single-vehicle crash on H Drive North near 22 ½ Mile Road at approximately 9:45 p.m.
Upon arrival, first responders located a Dodge pickup that had sustained extensive front-end damage and had the driver entrapped inside. He was extricated by the Marengo Township Fire Department and transported to Henry Ford Health in Jackson by the Marshall Area Firefighters Ambulance Authority.
The initial investigation suggests that excessive speed, alcohol, and marijuana use are all considered contributing factors in the collision.
