COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater Cardinal boys basketball team fell to 1-2 on the young season as they lost to Olivet 59-54 Monday night at the Coach Floyd Eby Gymnasium. The Cardinals led 27-24 at hafltime and led by six early in the third quarter, but the Eagles turned it on from the three-point line in the second half, outscoring the Cards 35-27. Zaiden Bramer had a game-high 23 points, including five triples, to pace Olivet.
Gavin Taylor led Coldwater with 19 points. Austin Downs had 11 points, 3 assists, and 2 steals. Julian Thompson added 11 and pulled down 4 rebounds. Jackson Reilly scored 9 points; he and Owen Tappenden led the team with 7 rebounds apiece.
The Cardinals are back in action Tuesday night against Tecumseh, part of a varsity girls and boys hoops twinbill. Coverage on WTVB will begin Tuesday at 5:20 p.m.

Olivet also won the JV game 63-43. Kolton Rice led Coldwater with 14 points, while Jack Aker added 10.
Elsewhere, Pansophia Academy improved to 1-1 as they defeated Kalamazoo Tree of Life 66-45.
