COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Coldwater dropped both ends of a varsity basketball doubleheader against Tecumseh Tuesday night at the Coach Floyd Eby Gymnasium.
The defending Division 2 girls basketball champion Indians jumped out to a 21-12 first quarter lead, had a 37-18 halftime advantage, and never looked back as the defeated the Lady Cards 71-44.
Four Tecumseh players scored in double digits: Chloe Bullinger had a game-high 17 points and 5 assists, while Addi Zajac had a double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds. Her sister Avery added 13 points, and Makayla Schlorf had 10 points and 5 assists.
Freshman Addy Bucklin led Coldwater with 11 points and 3 steals, Mya Porter added 10, and Danika Cox had a team-high 7 boards.

In the nightcap, the Cardinal boys led the Indians 27-25 at halftime, but were outscored the rest of the way 30-22 as they fell to 1-3 on the season with a 57-47-loss.
Just like in the girls contest, four Tecumseh players scored in double digits, led by 15 from Lamar Longabaugh, 12 from Charlie Palmer, and 10 each from Zeke Schmidt and Jacob Barrie.
Gavin Taylor had 11 points to lead Coldwater, while Julian Thompson added 10. Austin Downs had a game-high 5 rebounds.
