COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater City Council approved the introduction of an ordinance Monday night which amends the regulation of vegetation within public right-of-ways as well as vegetation on private property when public safety is affected.
City Attorney Amanda O’Boyle says the primary purpose is to ensure public safety.
Planning and Zoning Administrator Robert Hawley says the proposed revisions modernize and clarify standards for plantings in the right-of-way.
The ordinance is scheduled for a second reading and possible adoption at the Council’s meeting on January 12, 2026.
