COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – After 72 years of serving the downtown Coldwater, The Goodie Shop is officially on the market. Owner Veronica Carter, who represents the third generation of her family to run the diner, recently listed the business for sale.
Carter says they are looking for a new owner to carry on the diner’s legacy.
The sale of the property at 30 N. Monroe Street includes the 1,200-square-foot building, all kitchen equipment, inventory, and furniture, as well as the restaurant’s family recipes.
This includes their signature scratch-made biscuits and gravy, a local staple that has been prepared the same way since Carter’s grandfather purchased the business in 1985.
The turn-key listing offers a rare opportunity for a new proprietor to step into a well-established business with a loyal customer base and a “family feeling” that has defined the Coldwater landmark for decades.
It has an asking price of $219,000.
