Laurie Kay Banker, 57, of Allen passed away Friday, February 6, 2026 at Beacon Health in Kalamazoo.
A celebration of life will be held Saturday, March 7, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. at the Word of Life Outreach Center, 450 Clarendon Road, Quincy, Michigan.
Arrangements are entrusted to the Eagle Funeral Home-George White chapel in Quincy.
She was born May 27, 1968, in Marshfield, Wisconsin to Roger Johnson, Sr. and Judith (Latta) Baade. She married Steven Banker and he preceded her in death in 2011.
Laurie attended Quincy Community Schools and was formerly employed at the Community Health Center of Branch County.
She had a passion for crafting, especially diamond art. She had a love for animals, particularly her dogs, Heidi and Sahara. Above all, Laurie loved spending time with her two favorite people, her children, and later her grandchildren. She was known for her playful sense of humor and was a jokester who loved to make others laugh.
Survivors include her two children, Misty (Matthew Zinsmaster) Gibson and Christopher (Emily) Van Kooy; mother, Judith Baade; grandchildren, Chaz, Jocelyn, and Evie Rohrer, Kolten, Karsen and Izabella Van Kooy, Gunner Gibson, and one more on the way; sisters, Melissa Black, Julie (John) Maas, and Rebecca (Timothy) Sanford; step-brother, Toby Baade; half-sister, Chandra Bump; special aunt, Joyce (Bob) Signor; and many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews also survive.
She was preceded in death by her father, Roger Johnson, Sr.; step father, Jon Baade; sons, Aaron Gibson and Emil “Bud” Gibson III; and brother, Roger Johnson.
