ADRIAN,MI (WTVB) – The murder trial of Dale Warner is wrapping up its first full week of testimony in Lenawee County.
Warner faces charges of open murder and tampering with evidence in the 2021 death of his wife, Dee Warner, whose remains were discovered in August 2024 welded inside an anhydrous ammonia tank on the couple’s property
Prosecutors have spent the first week outlining a “toxic” marriage and presenting evidence of Dale Warner’s alleged surveillance of his wife before her disappearance.
On Day 5, jurors were shown recorded police interviews in which Warner suggested his wife was “mentally unstable” and may have left voluntarily for Jamaica.
Detectives also testified about discrepancies in Warner’s timeline, noting that he accessed farm security cameras and his wife’s vehicle data shortly before reporting her missing.
The defense continues to argue that the case is built on speculation and lacks direct physical evidence linking Dale to the act of killing, despite his fingerprints being found on the tank where Dee’s remains were hidden.
The trial is expected to last another six to seven weeks.
