Natasha and her twin sister Nikki were born April 12, 1975 in Napoleon, OH to Robert & Carol (Jantzi) Montgomery. She married David J. Powell December 19, 2009 in Quincy, MI. Their beautiful daughter Brooklyn arrived September 6, 2012.
Natasha graduated from Quincy High School, earned her undergraduate degree from Lee University in Cleveland, TN and then her master’s degree from Western MI University in Educational Leadership.
Natasha began her career teaching at Camden High School. She worked several years at Quincy High School and then served as Principal at Tri-State Christian School. When her daughter Brooklyn was born, Natasha was a stay-at-home mom, dedicating all her time to her daughter, family, church, and community. She eventually went back to work in education, substitute teaching, and volunteering in the community. Natasha was a certified Montessori Administrator and Trainer with a dream to open a Christian Montessori school in Coldwater, which was set to open this year.
Natasha dedicated over 20 years to teaching children about Jesus, serving as a children’s pastor at Word of Life Outreach Center. She was a lifelong learner, who loved to read and attend Bible classes and help others in any way she could. She loved people, she loved Jesus and she loved sharing that – authoring children’s Sunday school curriculum and two Christian children’s books, Just Like Jesus and Do You See What I See. Natasha was a devoted wife, mother and sister. She cherished time with her family, especially her daughter.
