ANGOLA, IN (WTVB) – A 44-year-old Angola man, was arrested around noon Monday without incident by Steuben County Sheriff’s deputies in the 1400 block of North Wayne Street.
Martin Joseph Boyd Jr. was taken into custody on an active arrest warrant charging him with eight counts of Level 1 felony child molesting.
The charges stem from a 14-month investigation launched by the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office in January 2025 into allegations that Boyd engaged in sexual intercourse on multiple occasions with a female victim who was under 14 years old at the time. The alleged incidents occurred between 2020 and 2024 at various locations throughout Steuben County.
During the probe, detectives recovered potential biological evidence from at least two of the suspected sites. A search warrant for Boyd’s DNA was subsequently obtained and executed, and the evidence was submitted to the Indiana State Police DNA Laboratory for analysis.
In February 2026, lab results confirmed Boyd as a contributor to one of the DNA samples, providing key evidence that supported the issuance of the arrest warrant.
The investigation remains active, and further developments are expected following Boyd’s court proceedings.
Boyde Jr. was booked into the Steuben County Jail, where he remains held without bond awaiting his initial court appearance.
