Clarence Joseph Dorer, age 82, of Quincy, passed away Wednesday, February 25, 2026 at McGuire Skilled Nursing Facility in Hillsdale.
There will be no services at this time.
Arrangements are entrusted to the VanHorn-Eagle Funeral Home in Hillsdale.
He was born September 14, 1943, in Jackson, to Clarence and Mildred (Abbott) Dorer.
Clarence graduated from East Jackson High School and went on to work as a truck driver for many years. He was the owner of Dorer Easy Shifter and Butler Motor Speedway. Clarence was an avid racer and was entered into the Michigan Motorsports Hall of Fame in 2006.
Clarence is survived by three children, Brian Dorer, Steve (Midnight Smith) Dorer and Christine Dorer, all of Florida; one granddaughter, Olyvia Nicole Dorer; and one sister, Carolyn (George “Punk”) Dingee.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, Gerald Dorer of Cement City.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Michigan Motorsports Hall of Fame.
