COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The 12th annual Power of the Purse fundraiser, hosted by the Branch County United Way is set to take place tomorrow, at the Dearth Community Center.
This signature event features more than 100 donated designer purses and themed packages available for raffle throughout the day. Attendees can choose from three participation levels: a morning “Fast Pass” for quick raffle entry from 8:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., a sit-down luncheon from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., or a sold-out evening dinner from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m..
The event serves as a major fundraiser for local literacy, with all proceeds directly supporting the Dolly Parton Imagination Library to provide free books to Branch County children from birth to age five. In addition to the purse raffles, the luncheon portion of the day will celebrate community leadership by honoring the 2026 Women of the Year in both Business and Service categories. Organizers emphasize that while the evening session is fully booked, limited tickets for the morning and afternoon sessions may still be available for those wishing to support the United Way’s 26 local partner agencies.
