KINDERHOOK TOWNSHIP, MI (WTVB) – Overnight storms and high winds have left thousands of Consumers Energy customers in Branch County without power this morning.
Over 5,000 Branch County customers are waking up in the dark this morning, with the hardest hit areas in Kinderhook Township.
According to the Consumers outage map over 4,ooo of the outages are in that part of the county, Consumers says the estimated restoration time for some isn’t until early Tuesday morning while others will have to wait until late this afternoon into this evening to have power restored. the remaining outages are scattered throughout county with restoration times varying from this morning through tonight.
The outage numbers in neighboring counties include just under a thousand in Calhoun County ,nearly 700 in Hillsdale County and less than 500 in St Joseph County.
System wide consumers says almost 85,000 customers are without power from both severe storms in the southern lower Peninsula and a winter storm in the UP and lower Northern Peninsula
