UNION CITY, MI (WTVB) – After ten days of serving hot meals to those effected by the Union City tornado, organizers at the Central hub at Union City High School have announced those will continue through Tuesday until 7:00p.m..
To maximize the use of available food supplies, officials are encouraging impacted residents to take extra meals to last them through the coming days.
In a show of broad community solidarity, the invitation for these meals has been opened to all members of the public, whether they wish to eat on-site or take food to go. To lower barriers for those in need, organizers have waived the requirement for residents to present a verified Union City tornado impacted residence card.
This inclusive approach aims to streamline aid as the village continues to clean up wreckage and support the families of the three victims lost in the tragedy.
