COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A Coldwater man has been sentenced for the malicious destruction of property at a local car dealership.
44-year old Justin Posante, received a prison term of 18 months to five years after pleading guilty to damaging two vehicles at Cole Ford
The incident occurred just after midnight on September 16, 2025, and Coldwater Police were able to identify Posante by reviewing security footage from four nearby businesses along East Chicago Street.
During the sentencing, Circuit Judge David Buter ordered the new sentence to run consecutively to Posante’s previous term.
Posante was on parole at the time of the offense for a 2023 methamphetamine possession conviction and must now serve an additional year on that prior sentence before his new term begins.
Assistant Prosecutor Lauren Peters highlighted Posante’s extensive criminal history, which includes seven prior felony and 28 misdemeanor convictions, while the court noted he would receive no credit for the 166 days already served since his arrest.
