MARSHALL, MI (WTVB) – The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office has secured a $7,259 Momentum Grant from the Marshall Community Foundation to equip local investigators with the OSCR 360 Capture Kit, a system that creates interactive, 360-degree virtual walkthroughs of crime scenes.
The high-tech equipment will be utilized by the Calhoun Area Multi-Jurisdictional Evidence Team (CAMJET) to improve evidence documentation, enhance courtroom presentations, and increase investigative efficiency across the region.
This collaborative task force, which includes agencies from Albion, Emmett Township, Marshall, and the Nottawaseppi Huron Band of the Potawatomi, aims to strengthen case outcomes through advanced technology.
According to Sheriff Steve Hinkley, the investment, which aligns with tools used by the Michigan State Police, will bolster the collaborative response to serious incidents.
