The Coldwater City Council has adopted Resolution No. 26-28 this week, approving the closure of S. Monroe Street on Saturday, May 16, from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. for a street party hosted by Jim’s Place Billiards.
The event will feature professional pool player Jeanette “The Black Widow” Lee the number one female pool player in the world.
City Manager Keith Baker says the plans call for an all day outdoor event.
Taking place from Noon to 10:00 p.m., the event aligns with city goals to increase economic vibrancy, though attendees are advised to use alternate parking due to the Cultural Jubilee taking place downtown around Tibbits Plaza the same day .
The council authorized the closure from US-12 to West Pearl Street to accommodate the celebration.
