Norman L. Runyon, 81, passed away Tuesday, March 31, 2026 in Palmetto, Florida.
A funeral service will be held Friday, April 10, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Pleasant Hill Missionary Church in Bronson, Michigan. Visitation will take place prior to the service from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery.

Norman was born March 20, 1945 in Manistee, Michigan, to Lawrence V. Runyon and Leilah E. (Hartgerink). He married Rose M. (Smith) November 19, 1966. She preceded him in death January 30, 2021.
Norman earned his bachelor’s degree from Michigan State University and later received his master’s degree in Math and History from Western Michigan University. He dedicated many years to education, teaching in Mendon, Michigan and then went to Pakistan and taught at Lahore American Schools. Norman then worked at Grumman Olsen in Sturgis from 1974 to 1990, and then later teaching at a community college in Dowagiac, Michigan until his retirement.
Norman was a member of Diamond Cove Missionary Church in Cassopolis and The Source in Ellenton, Florida. He enjoyed stamp collecting, singing in his church quartet, and gardening. He had a deep love for classical music—especially Beethoven—and was an accomplished piano player.
He is survived by his children, Katrina (Tom) Schultz, Shannon Runyon, Erik (Heather) Runyon, Adam (Danielle) Runyon, and Alex Runyon; and his grandchildren, Logan, Noah, Ainsley, Gabriel, Samara, Lucas, Haley, Lilly, Holly, and Max.
