Beverly J. Puckett, 87, of Kalamazoo, formerly of Quincy, passed away Thursday, April 2, 2026.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 9, 2026 at Dayburg Cemetery in Butler Township, Michigan.
Beverly was born September 19, 1938 in Battle Creek, Michigan to Lawrence VanVleet and Reba (Bauman) VanVleet. She graduated from Quincy High School in 1957 and retired from the post office in 2002.
Beverly had a passion for crafts, particularly painting and knitting. She also enjoyed traveling, dancing, playing cards, and was a licensed electrologist. She was a member of several organizations, including the Lioness Club, Coping with Divorce support group, the Moose Lodge, and the VFW Auxiliary. Several years ago, she discovered her biological roots, most recently her paternal family.
Beverly is survived by her two daughters, Connie (Todd) Weng and Linda (Steve) Smith; her two grand dogs, Bayle’ and Oreo; two brothers, Darel (Eileen) VanVleet and Jim Betts; a sister, Virginia Jenney; and her sister-in-law, Katie VanVleet, along with her nephews, nieces, and extended family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Jim VanVleet, and her sister Ruth McGuffey.
