ANN ARBOR, MI (WTVB) – The University of Michigan is opening the doors of the Crisler Center tonight at 7:30 p.m. for a campus-wide watch party as the Wolverines take on UConn for the NCAA Division I men’s basketball national title.
Following a dominant Final Four victory over Arizona, the team is seeking its first championship since 1989. The event is free for students, faculty, and staff, with tip-off scheduled for 8:49 p.m. at Lucas Oil Stadium.
The matchup features a clash of titans, pitting a high powered Michigan offense which has scored at least 90 points in every tournament game, against a UConn squad led by Dan Hurley, who is chasing a third title in four years. While the Huskies boast six national championships, the Wolverines are looking to shed their recent “runner-up” streak and become just the 16th program in history to win multiple titles.
If Michigan prevails, they will cement a historic run that has seen them lead every tournament opponent by at least 16 points.
