ANGOLA, IN (WTVB) – Steuben County Sheriff’s detectives say they arrested Steuben County Director of Building and Planning, Clinton W. Knauer, on an active Steuben County warrant following an investigation into a March 27, altercation that took place at the Steuben County Community Center.
The 53-year-old Knauer was booked into the Steuben County Jail on charges of class B misdemeanor battery, level 6 felony criminal confinement, and level 6 felony official misconduct, and is held on a $3,000 bond.
The Sheriff’s Department hasn’t released details of what led to Knauer’s arrest but did say the investigation is ongoing. Knauer has served in the planning commission for over 23 years.
