ANGOLA, IN (WTVB) – The Metropolitan School District of Steuben County says they have terminated bus driver Jennie Hammond following an internal investigation that revealed she was using a cell phone during a rollover crash that occurred Monday morning.
The incident, which occurred on South County Road 300 East, resulted in both the Hammond and a student being treated and released at Cameron Health.
The school district said in a statement they are cooperating with law enforcement and affirmed its commitment to student safety, noting the driver’s actions violated school policies.
