PENNFIELD TOWNSHIP, MI (WTVB) – Four individuals were arrested early Thursday morning following a violent assault and robbery in Pennfield Township involving a gel-pellet blaster.
After responding to a shooting report on NE Capital Avenue, Calhoun County deputies discovered an adult male was struck with Orbeez-style projectiles, physically assaulted, and robbed of his phone by occupants of a light-colored SUV.
A deputy soon located the suspect vehicle near Emmett and Fremont Streets, and a subsequent search yielded the victim’s phone, gel pellets, and a concealed .40 caliber Glock handgun.
The four suspects from the Battle Creek area were taken into custody and face charges including robbery and aggravated assault, with an additional concealed weapon charge for the firearm owner.
