COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Senior Mya Porter was voted by her teammates Most Valuable Player for the Coldwater Cardinal girls basketball team. The recognition came during the annual team banquet Sunday afternoon at Coldwater High School.
In other awards voted on by team members, sophomore Vandria Bucklin was named Most Improved Player, while senior Danika Cox won the Coach’s Award and was named Most Sportsmanlike for the fourth year in a row. Fellow senior Coley Burkhardt was named Best Defensive Player for the third straight year, and Rylie VanAken won the Leadership Award.
Coldwater finished 17-8 overall this past season and was runner-up in the Interstate 8 at 10-2.
