COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater City Council awarded a $671,869 contract to Quincy-based Parrish Excavating, Inc. for the second phase of the Rotary Park renovation on Monday night.
City Manager Keith Baker addressed the council on what phase two will consist of.
Parrish, the contractor for the project’s first phase, was selected from six bidders following the July 16, opening of bids.
The project is financed by a $400,000 Michigan Natural Resources Trust Fund grant and the City’s accumulated state cannabis tax revenues, which are restricted to the Capital Improvement Fund.
The awarded contract, approved via Resolution No. 26-86, covers the construction of the pavilion, dock, and park improvements, along with a one-year warranty.
Baker also told the council they are nearing completion of phase one of the project that has faced a series of delays
He added they are hopeful to complete phase two by the end of the year.
