COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater Community Schools Board of Education approved contracts Monday night for architectural services and construction management for the new fourth and fifth grade building which will be constructed on Western Avenue in Coldwater.
TowerPinkster will serve as the architect while Owen-Ames-Kimball Company of Grand Rapids will serve as the construction manager.
Owen-Ames-Kimball has been in business since 1891 and have been involved in many school projects including Holland, Portage and Byron Center.
Among the school projects TowerPinkster have been involved in is the design of the Battle Creek Area Math and Science Center. They have also done work in the past for Coldwater Community Schools and the Branch Intermediate School District.
Following the close approval of a nearly $30 million millage and bonding issue last November by voters in the Coldwater Community School District, the new building will replace Lakeland Elementary. It is scheduled to open in December 2020.
