COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A robotics team at Coldwater High School has just wrapped up its second season with almost double the number of students from last year.
A presentation was made during Tuesday night Coldwater Board of Public Utilities Board of Directors meeting.
The robotics team took part in competitions this year at Gull Lake and at Battle Creek Lakeview where they finished 18th out of 40 schools.
Coldwater High School science teacher Larry Burns once again mentored and coached the team. He said there were 23 students in the program compared to 10 to 12 last year. He along with Robotics team members Breanna Hamm and Raghad Ahmed put on a demonstration of their robot for the CBPU board.
Coldwater is one of over 400 robotic teams in Michigan.
Michigan Department of Education grants and sponsors help fund the program. The Coldwater Board of Public Utilities is the main sponsor for the Coldwater program.
