COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – In high schoool baseball, after getting thumped by Vicksburg 11-1 in the opener of a doubleheader, the Coldwater Cardinals bounced back in the nightcap and won 2-1 Wednesday night at Lowe Field.
Lucas Santure delivered the game-winning single in the last of the sixth of the second game which made Hunter St. Claire the winning pitcher. Bryce Lafferty had two of the Coldwater hits in the nightcap. Santure collected two hits in the first game.
Coldwater’s record is now 2-2.
Bronson improved to 6-0 with a doubleheader sweep of Prairie Heights by scores of 2-1 and 7-4. Brendan Bell was the winning pitcher in both games pitching a total of six shutout innings. He struck out nine in the two games. Bell also collected his 88th career RBI. That made him Bronson’s all time career RBI leader

Coldwater dropped to 0-4 as they were swept by Vicksburg 11-0 and 7-5. Darlene Horn and Mia Rzepka both had two hits in the second game. Horn also drove in two runs.
