COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A Sherwood woman entered a no contest plea to second degree child abuse Monday in Branch County Circuit Court.
35-year-old Katrina Black was originally charged with four counts for alleged sex crimes involving a 14-year-old girl.
In exchange for her plea, prosecutors will dismiss two counts of first degree C.S.C. as well as a charge of accosting a child for immoral purposes. Sentencing has been scheduled for May 21, 2018.
Her 32-year-old husband Clyde is a co-defendant in the case. He has been charged with four counts of first degree criminal sexual conduct.
According to court documents, the Blacks were arrested following a Michigan State Police investigation into accusations they allegedly tried to teach sex education to the girl in the case.
