COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Every year, millions of Americans are affected by crime and next week, everyone entering the Branch County Courthouse will be reminded on 3 days about crime and its impact on our lives. This year, April 8–14 is National Crime Victims’ Rights Week, a time to celebrate progress achieved, raise awareness of victims’ rights and services, and stand with our families, neighbors, friends and colleagues whose lives have been forever altered by crime.
This year’s theme is Expand the Circle to Reach All Victims and there will be a display at the Courthouse in Coldwater Monday April 9 through Wednesday April 11. Featured each of those days from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. there will be an informational booth to honor victims and those who serve them.
The effort will be led by the Branch County Coalition Against Domestic Violence and the booth will be manned by community members and agencies who are dedicated to listening, reaching out and supporting victims while reminding them they are not alone as they recover.
