COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A three step process to hire a new Branch County 911 Director was brought forward to next Tuesday’s meeting by the Branch County Board of Commissioners during their work session on Thursday.
The process is expected to start later this month. County Administrator Bud Norman is anticipating up to 50 applicants for the position. A search and screening committee will go over the initial applications and recommend between five and 12 candidates who will go before an interview panel.
That panel will determine strengths and weaknesses of the candidates interviewed and they will make recommendations on between three and five candidates who will then go before the Board of Commissioners.
Members of the Branch County 911 Communications Board will be involved in the process of finding the new director.
Norman said the process will be challenging.
He added there will be confidentiality for the applicants up until the time the final candidates are selected to go before the Commissioners.
The entire timeline is expected to last until June.
Formal action on the hiring process is scheduled to be taken by the County Commissioners next Tuesday afternoon.
