UNION CITY, MI (WTVB) – Water rates in the Village of Union City are changing, and for most water users, it’s good news.
According to a post on the village’s Facebook page, the Union City Village Council adopted a change to the water resolution which will reduce the ready to serve charges for customers from $24.98 to $15 for the average home consumer.
The end result according to village officials is that average users of 3,000 gallons of water per month will see no change or a decrease in their bill.
Heavy users will see an increase proportionate to the amount of usage.
The Village will monitor results and they encourage any feedback.
In addition, the Village Council voted this past Monday to have another free spring clean up day for Village residents April 21, 2018.
Dumpsters will be available for Village residents at the department of public works. All of the rules for the day will be listed in a flier that will be going out with the utility bills in April.
If you have any questions, call the Village Office at (517) 741-8591.
