RICHLAND, MI (WTVB) – After falling behind by 12 points late in the first half, Coldwater stormed back to defeat Kalamazoo Loy Norrix 68-56 to claim the Class A District crown at Richland Gull Lake. Coldwater trailed 25-19 at the half but turned the game in their favor with a 24-10 third quarter which gave them a 43-35 lead. Loy Norrix stayed within striking distance in the final quarter before the Cardinals pulled away in the final minutes. Brady Beckhusen erupted for 33 points and grabbed seven rebounds. Dylan Targgart had 20 points while Gage McGuire had Gage McGuire had 10 points, seven rebounds and six assists. Damon Beckhusen had nine assists. Coldwater is now 19-3. They will face 19-4 Okemos at 7:00 p.m. Monday night in the regional semifinals at Battle Creek Lakeview. Okemos advanced on Friday with a 58-46 victory over Mason.

—MHSAA Girls Gymnastics State Finals—
(ROCKFORD) – Two Coldwater High School gymnasts will be competing at the MHSAA Individual State Finals on Saturday at Rockford. Claire Sheppard will be competing in the floor exercise for the second straight year while Erica Rodgers qualified for her first state finals on the uneven bars.
