COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Four Coldwater Board of Public Utilities Electric Department employees have traveled to New York State to assist with the expected loss of power due to winter storm Quinn.
The Coldwater crew along with fellow electrical workers from Marshall and Bryan, Ohio left early Thursday morning.
After a 12-and-a-half hour drive, they staged at Rye, New York. From there they will be assigned to their specific work locations to assist until restoration efforts have been completed.
BPU Director Jeff Budd said “In addition to helping restore power to other public power communities, this is a great learning experience for the lineman as they see how other crews work and compare and contrast techniques. We are incredibly proud of all of our employees and the commitment they have to the public power roots of our organization.”
