COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Five Coldwater High School students spent 14 hours last Saturday taking part in a whole-day math challenge.
The rigorous event is part of the MathWorks Math Modeling (M3) Challenge.
Students have to complete three parts of a mathematical modeling scenario during the time allotted which started at 8:00 a.m. and ended at 10:00 p.m..
Seniors Stuart Sobeske, Lewis Eastmead, William Reehl, Selena Hostetler and Allison Marshall had to formulate mathematical models and submit a written report approximately 20 pages in length.
They were supervised by C.H.S. Mathematics teacher Samantha Wendorf.
